The last stretch

We are on the last stretch, the last week, before moving back to Ontario. It will be another year of studies for D. and then it will be done for good (hurray!). We’ll have to move again next year, but at least I can have the consolation that it should then be to a permanent place (or for a good couple of years).
We’ve been asked many times if we are happy to be going back, to which we can’t answer with a firm yes or no. We are happy to be moving back because D. has to finish what has taken so long, so many long years, to accomplish. And yet, we’ve met here some very friendly and generous people who have greatly helped us having a pleasant vicarage experience. As for me, being so busy with the twins, I can’t say that I’ve had time to be bored too much; although I won’t deny that staying housebound in the middle of nowhere with two young children during a terribly long winter has been… difficult, depressing and unhealthy!
So, I’m looking forward to this last year of seminary for D. It will fly us by as fast as this year did, I’m sure. Hard to believe that at this date next year we will probably know where will be our next destination. We are hoping and praying for Brazil, but who knows? We might have to get a first call (work assignment within the church) in Canada for a couple of year before getting a call for a church in Brazil. I do wish to do the big move right away, but sometimes it doesn’t work that way. D warned me to get my head prepared for such an eventuality because he knows how sad I can get when my dream doesn’t happen the way I planned!
I’m also looking forward to live again in a (larger) city. Niagara is far from being my perfect place to live, but at least I’ll be able to have some choices in my daily walks with the boys. I am eager to see again some familiar faces and have play dates with friends and our children (kids so young grow up so fast!)…
Last but not least, I can’t wait to have my first ultrasound, meet the midwives, and hold my third child in my arms!
