Boa Sorte / Good Luck

Posted on: Jueves 22 noviembre 2007

Thanks to Pauline, I’ve discovered a new (for me) Brazilian singer Vanessa da Mata, and the North American Ben Harper. What’s great is that the duet being already a translation of the same lyrics in Portuguese / English, I have nothing to do but read, sing, and like you… Enjoy. 🙂

É só isso
Não tem mais jeito
Acabou, Boa sorte
Não tenho o que dizer
São só palavras
E o que eu sinto não mudará

Tudo o que quer me dar
É demais, é pesado
Não há paz
Tudo o que quer de mim
Expectativas desleais

That’s it
There is no way
It’s over
Good luck
I have nothing left to say
It’s only words
And what l feel
Won’t change

Tudo o que quer me dar (Everything you want to give me)
É demais (Is too much)
É pesado (Is too heavy)
Não há paz (There’s no peace)
Tudo o que quer de mim (All you want from me)
Irreais (Isn´t real)
Expectativas (Expectations)

Mesmo, se segure
Quero que se cure
Dessa pessoa que o aconselha
Há um desencontro
Veja por esse ponto
Há tantas pessoas especiais

Now even if you hold yourself
I want you to get cured
From this person
Who advises you
There is a disconnection
See through this point of view
There are so many special people in the world
So many special people in the world… in the world
All you want all you want

(Repete refrão)

Now we’re falling, falling into the night,
Falling, falling into the night

(bom encontro é de dois),
Now we’re falling, falling into the night,
Falling, falling into the night.

I know that song, but when I first watched that video (a couple months ago I think), I thought it was a… whatchamacallit? Ach! I had the word before starting writing the comment! :((
Like they just sampled the two versions together and make it one? You know Brazilians are pros in doing remakes 😉

I have some Braz musics I love, if ever you want some 😀

I thought it’s quite good for two people who didn’t get together to record it! 🙂 And yeah, hubby told me that Brazilians are good in mixing good and bad things together, Ein Mischung. One of the many things he doesn’t like about his country… Never mind, I want to see for myself! :-)(Oh, and yes pleeease I like Brazilian music! — I think!)

Love the mix of languages and music!

This song was played ALL of the time when I was in Brazil in July. It absolutely reminds me of all the things I experienced while I was there. I can’t get enough!
